Each one is led by a Brand Champion: a veterinarian or an animal advocate. Virtually all of them are made in our kitchens in Germantown, Wisconsin and Seward, Nebraska. One manufacturing standard.

Nature's Blend · Freeze-dried raw
More than 50 years of integrative veterinary practice taught Dr. Marty Goldstein the same lesson, again and again: dogs and cats thrive on real food.
Dr. Marty Pets makes freeze-dried raw food with real animal protein as the first ingredient. Nature's Blend, the freeze-dried raw line, gently dries the protein at low temperatures to preserve its natural enzymes and nutrients. Every freeze-dried lot then runs through high-pressure processing, a non-thermal pathogen-elimination step also used in deli meats and cold-pressed juice.

Dr. Marty Goldstein is an integrative veterinarian and the Brand Champion and brand voice of Dr. Marty Pets. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University in 1973 and practiced veterinary medicine for more than 50 years, focused on integrative approaches to chronic and degenerative illness in companion animals. He was certified by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society in 1977 and is a founding member of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association, on whose research foundation he currently serves. He founded Smith Ridge Veterinary Center in South Salem, New York, and retired from active veterinary practice in 2019. He is the author of The Nature of Animal Healing (Penguin Random House, 1999), is featured in the documentary The Dog Doc, and was profiled by Forbes as "the Miracle Worker."

Cesar Millan is a dog behaviorist and New York Times bestselling author, best known as the host of Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan (National Geographic, 2004–2012). He has since hosted Cesar 911 and Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog for National Geographic and Disney+, authored bestsellers including Cesar's Way, and founded the Dog Psychology Center. He serves as Brand Champion for Dr. Marty Pets alongside Brand Champion Dr. Marty Goldstein, DVM.

Emmy Award-winning actress Katherine Heigl could not find a dog food clean enough for her own dogs. So in 2022, Badlands Ranch launched with her as its Brand Champion.
She came to it from her ranch in Utah, her family's rescues, and the Jason Heigl Foundation, the animal-welfare nonprofit she and her mother Nancy Heigl founded in 2008 in memory of her late brother, Jason.

Katherine Heigl is an Emmy Award-winning actress and animal welfare advocate, known for Grey's Anatomy, Knocked Up, and 27 Dresses. In 2008, Nancy Heigl and her daughter Katherine co-founded the Jason Heigl Foundation in memory of Katherine's late brother, Jason Heigl. The Foundation has placed more than 25,000 rescued dogs, funded more than 21,000 spay-and-neuter surgeries, and transported more than 7,500 dogs out of high-kill shelters. She became the Brand Champion of Badlands Ranch in 2022. The product she put her name on first, Superfood Complete, is formulated at 87% animal protein.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in animal science, a Master of Science in veterinary medical science, and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (with honors), all from the University of Florida. He is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist and Certified Veterinary Chiropractor. He has practiced veterinary medicine in Oakland, California since 1998, founding Holistic Veterinary Care in 2009 and previously owning Montclair Veterinary Hospital from 2002 to 2021. He is the author of The Ultimate Pet Health Guide, Longevity for Dogs, and Longevity for Cats.
