Golden Pet Brands Acquires Petsource Facility in Seward, Nebraska

Golden Pet Brands™ completed the acquisition of the Petsource pet food production facility in Seward, Nebraska, which closed on May 8, 2026. The 170,000-square-foot site, built in 2019 and expanded before the acquisition, brings approximately 100 employees into Golden Pet Manufacturing. The facility holds SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification and is FDA registered.

Golden Pet Brands™, a vertically integrated pet nutrition company (formerly Golden Hippo Holdco Inc.), announced the appointment of Apu Mody as Chief Executive Officer and John Meloun as Chief Financial Officer. Apu Mody brings 25+ years in consumer packaged goods, including senior leadership roles at Mars Foods Americas and Del Monte Foods. John Meloun joins from Xponential Fitness, where he served as Chief Financial Officer for nearly eight years.
